I found this and thought it might be worth sharing in case anyone had any questions of the how thick certain "ounce" leather is.

I buy quite a bit of, leather, buckskin, buffalo hide, and rawhide, from the Leather Guy.

I'm looking for, what Tandy called blacksmith leather 25-30 years ago.  While on their site I found this which fits right in with what OJ posted:
