Things were going just fine until around 2:30 pm when the dogone step-ladder got away from me.
Thankfully, I was only on the third and second step up coming down when I lost it.
It knocked the living fire out of me, but it also embarrassed the heck out of me since it happened in the front yard....so I just sat there on the ground and thought about it for a few minutes, hoping, maybe even praying, that no one saw it happen.
Life is good. I think I'm going to have a cool drink of "something", after all it is a special day.

HBD, Russ. Ya gotta be more careful. After all, you are gaining in whatever it is you are gaining in. And you are at the point in your life where you oughta stay offa ladders, doncha know.
So, now you have two things to celebrate, 1) Your birthday and 2) that you didn't break your whatever on that darn ladder.
Happy day, my friend.

Thanks again for the nice remarks!
But, I gotta tell ya, this old boy had a really hard time getting out of the bed this morning....I hope I didn't hurt myself too bad, I can't find a place that doesn't hurt.
After I had a couple cups of good stout Coffee, I went out in the shop, got my ladder out, opened it up, and measured from the 3rd step to the floor.
It was exactly 33"! Are you kidding me? 33" ain't nothing!....
I can't even begin to imagine the condition I would be in if it had been 34" ! :Doh! :lol sign :lol sign
These "Golden years" are for the birds!

Have a cold one....on me! :toast :toast :yessir:

Happy Birthday Russ. :toast :shake
Sorry I'm late with the birthday wish, Cindy & I just got back from our daughter-in-law's college graduation this weekend. Gotta say, I'm pretty much "drived" out...
Happy Birthday my friend! :shake

I'm late as usual, hope you are feeling a bit less sore by now! :toast
Carol has absolutely forbidden me from getting on ladders after reading somewhere on line that old folks lose their balance more than the young sprats. So I have to sneak around and do stuff which requires me being on a ladder when she is otherwise occupied... :o
