Puffer,

I started out in '78/'79 with a CVA .50 Cal. Caplock Mnt Rifle kit, and a Euroarms Brescia 1851 .36 steel frame Navy Revolver. I ran a'lot of shots through both until about 14/15 years ago or so, when I started building my own rifles... Got no complaints about either one and they're still shoot'able today, though it's been a long time since I had the ol' CVA Mnt Rifle out.  :bl th up

My first B/P pistol was a Hawes 1851 Colt Sheriff's Model.
My first B/P rifle was a Thompson Center Renegade .54 cal percussion.  Over the course of time, it changed a bit.  I kind of Hawkenized it a tad.  Made an iron butt plate for it that kinda resembled a Hawken one.  Then I got a Hawken Shop Hawken trigger guard and iron sights on it.  But what made it something else was a Douglas premium 36" barrel.
Both of these guns were great shooters.  Selling the T/C I rate right up on my list of ten most stupid things I have done.  Plus I included the first pouch I made along with an original October Country powder horn.
