Howdy Y'all!
It's a little strange posting here, as I'm usually taking up space in People of the Time. But I just had to share my news.
I've just competed my paperwork and training. I'm now an official Living History Volunteer at the Alamo. In addition, I'll be doin' living history volunteering at the presidio La Bahia in Goliad.
I'm really honored to be allowed to join such august organizations. So if'n any of y'all are comin' through San Antonio, or Goliad give me a shout. If I'm goin' to be at either place at that time I'd love to meet y'all!

Cool, that will be a rewarding experience.
Don't think i'll be in San Antonio anytime soon.
But I was there once when I was stationed at lackland AFB.
Enjoy
Kevin

Thanks Kevin!

Cool! We were at the Alamo in the late 1990s when my FIL was the hospital on San Antonio. Carol still is mad at me for taking a photo of it without her and her brother being in the picture.... There were some other tourists in it, of course. (Sigh) Can't win for losing! :luff:

Congratulations on your selection as an Alamo Docent. :applaud :applaud :applaud
You will be keeping up your Texas history articles here, won't you Craig?
-
Congratulations Craig, pretty impressive. I guess I'm due again. Haven't been down there since the mid 70's.
-
Well done brother, you'll certainly be an asset to the team!

Thanks! Actually I'll be doin' more Living History than Docent volunteering. Although in a pinch, I could certainly help out in the docent area.
The volunteer requirement is only 12 hours per month. I'm sure I'll be able to keep postin' Texas History tidbits.

Thanks Bro'! They seem to think so! They are thrilled to have me as a volunteer, especially since I'm quite familiar with the material, and that I have my own kit. It's not often that they get basically a plug and play volunteer.

Great news Craig…I know you'll do them proud!
