The latest issue of Wooden Boat Magazine arrived the other day, and it has a great article about a clone of Nessmuk's "Bucktail" canoe. The original had been built for him by Rushton, who then made many more to sell. Nessmuk used his down in Florida where most of the others were also, apparently. The article had quite some information on Nessmuk and his life of adventure. It would be worth finding in the library or buying a copy just to read it. https://www.woodenboat.com/
Of course, the fact that one of our members uses that name made me think of posting this!

Which of our members uses that name? :luff:

The Bucktail canoe is nice but I much prefer the "Sairy Gamp" . She's lighter and she's still on display at the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake, N.Y.
Thanks for the plug, Winter Hawk!!

That's a mighty nice offer and I thank you, but my cousin in NY is a subscriber and is mailing me his copy.
