AUGUST POSTAL TARGETS

This Month's Fun Shoot Target is Called "Broken Lines Matter". Scoring is on the bottom line of the target. a little advice, use a .4o Cal or bigger. [

So do we just shoot at the bottom line and ignore all the others?

LOL!  No, one shot at each line. You'll have to be exact with your .36 cal pistol, Paul !!!

That is a diabolical target!.  ;banghead; I used to be pretty good with vertical bars, but the horizontal ones?  Not so much.

What is the distance to shoot from?  I would think 5 feet would be reasonable. :luff:

Shot the easy standard target to build up some confidence before the diabolical broken lines.

Went to see the target printer this morning. Spent some time looking at this fun target afterward to prepare myself. I was thinking meditation was the best way. But have changed my mind. I now think hypnosis might be the solution. Or borrow one of those big bores that Bigsmoke uses.

Brilliant thinking Kevin. Will you have someone else there to help you pick yourself off the ground after firing the shot?

Well, 5 .530 balls would only weigh about 1,150 grains.
And you would need at least 200 grains of powder to get them moving well and into a good pattern.
That shouldn't recoil all that badly. :stooges:  OR NOT !!!

Warning:  this load is for amusement purposes only.  Do not try this at home or with any witnesses.

If I had a .62 like Paul I might have scored higher!  Diabolical, no! Challenging as hell, Yes!

Did it cool down any for you to shoot those targets? I sure hope so.

No not really.
 Still hitting 90+ all week.
Wind was blowing today, sand getting kicked up.
Things were going good until I got stung on my right hip by what felt like a hornet. I know what that feels like
I was just pulling the trigger when the sucker struck.
Anyway if not for the bees I would have stayed and shot my pistol.

My problem is rain.  One to two inches coming today so the revolutionary challenge may be out for me as our 100-yard target is on the other side of the creek which is roaring and impossible to get across.  Will take a number of days for it to get low enough to cross again.  Years ago, we blew the engine in a jeep pickup crossing it and dunking it too deep.  We'll see.

Is driving through it the only way you have to cross over?

Yep.  Only way across.  We made a foot bridge once and that survived in the creek for about a year or so.  Usually it is easily passable with a 4-wheeler however so far this year has not been usual.

Have you been getting more rain than the Lowville area, Dave?

Don't know.  I am about 150 miles SE of Lowville.  I am on the Penciltuckey border.

My bad, Dave, I thought you were from OSwego not Owego.

No problem.  Happens all the time.  Once when I was coming back through customs into the US on a business trip from Toronto they argued with me that it was Oswego and not Owego and that my license was wrong.  That was interesting. :lol sign

That's some good shooting, fellows!  :bow  I've been getting some of the yard & household chores out of the way here so haven't had the chance this month to get out to the range - yet.  We'll see how next week works out.   :hairy

Haha, I can't believe I did that.  And I did the same thing on the bullseye target.🤔 I'm not sure Kees, but I'm thinking it's tied in with this GOLDEN YEARS stuff. Both targets were shot the same day, I think, pretty sure, oh brother.

Well, it is raining steady here and supposed to get worse tomorrow, so I won't be making the shoot this month.  Main reason is my Identity was stolen about 2 weeks ago and I have been on the phone getting everything changed as I had to change my bank account number, email and contact all credit cards.  I also had to freeze my credit again.  He got $2500 out of my checking account and tried to charge about $4k on credit cards but the card company declined the transactions, so I am working on getting my $2500 back. In the end I should not be out any money just two weeks of my life.  Will try next month.

Well Dave, first of all, sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience. I sure hope you succeed in getting your money back. And secondly, will miss your participation in this months shoot, and hopefully next month will work better for you.

Now THAT is a bummer, Dave.  Hope you can get the money back, for sure.

I will also be MIA this month.  Just haven't had the chance to spend a couple of hours away from home, other than to get the weekly shopping done.
