Title: Playing with my TC
Post by: KDubs on August 13, 2024, 10:13:50 AM
So I recently turned 60 and with that has come some vision issues, mainly cloudiness.  Making it hard to see that little notch in the rear sight
I thought well I have this buckhorn sight from the hawken shop so why not.

Sure can see that front sight now.

What would be a more hawken looking front sight.
 Simple flat blade ?

Anyways I'll be playing with the ol boy a bit see how this all shakes out.

Was it already drilled to the T-C hole spacing, or did you have to do that yourself?  I'm thinking of a Skinner sight for the Hodgepodge rifle, knowing that I will need to drill & tap it to mount that puppy.

When ordered everything to convert my TC the rear sight was back ordered. So they sent a pre drilled one the was slightly offset on the holes.  It fit the spacing fine just offset on the alignment.
After awhile I got an as cast one from them, no holes so I drilled it out myself.
They came out offset too so.... Whatever.

Hey Kevin, is the tail on that sight facing the front sight or the lock. I got one of those sights from The Gun  Works Oregon, and it has 3 holes drilled in it to accomodate an old or new TC. I think the holes lined up on that one.

 points at the front sight.
I'll try the front but I'd like to change it out for something more hawkenish if that's a thing.

I couldn't tell from the other picture. I thought I might have mine on backwards. I have a square notch in the back and a TC blade in the front. But I wasn't worried about authenticity. I just wanted to be able to see the sights.
