Thank you, No Powder and my Apologies, Salty.
:Doh! :Doh! :Doh! :Doh!
-
What range and shooting position?
Thanks IronHand
-
Mark, You are sure coming up with some dandy targets.
One of these days, I just might get my chubby derrière out to the range and take advantage of them.

Range 25 Yards for all Postal matches
Position is your choice:
SHOOTING POSITION FOR POSTAL MATCH
Shooters may shoot off-hand OR from a bench using ELBOWS ONLY, NO Rest of any kind.
SHOOTING POSITION FOR POSTAL FUN SHOOT
Shooters may use any position they wish, off-hand, sitting, kneeling. squatting, sitting or standing.
IF A REST IS USED IT MUST BE NON-ADJUSTABLE TYPE THAT WOULD BE COMMON IN THE 1850’s OR EARLIER. (Home-made would be best!)

I’ll start things off with a Fusil De Chasse smoothbore target. 25yds, offhand.

I had to copy it, magnify it but it's definitely a 47 3x!!
Good job, Paul!!
-
Nice shooting Paul. Mark, I'm glad you have the technology to check those targets out. I thought for sure it was a 49-3x. Just went to the range with a friend today. He had a 50 cal. smoothbore that he had never fired. Right now it's not shooting too bad at 25 yds. At 50 yds. it's another story. I also shot at the Revolutionary sized target again. Results were less than satisfactory.
-
Thanks for the info.
-
I have no excuses for my Fun target. A .32 T/C Cherokee with heavy barrel, perfect conditions, no wind, 77 degrees. I even colored the target for visibility! [ Invalid Attachment ] [ Invalid Attachment ]

Well you just gave me an idea Mark. I've already shot the Sept. bullseye with a 50 cal. But squirrel season opens Sept. 14 here in PA, so maybe I'll do like you and use the 32 on the fun target to see if I'll be able to hit a squirrel come Sept. 14. Thanks for the idea.
-
Your welcome, Tom. As you can see from my Fun target the squirrels are in no danger from me.
-
Well Mark, I'm sorry about not being conclusive with my score. My overlay doesn't have a 32 cal. size to use. I used the 30 cal. to check. So I'm pretty sure what the score is, but I'd like you to determine what it is. Makes no difference to me. [ Invalid Attachment ] [ Invalid Attachment ]

Tom, both targets are great.
Bullseye is 50-2x I think.
Snake is dead and headless.
-
That's the only way snakes should be.
-
Tom, The Fun target is definitely 25. Your standard target looks almost like a 50 3x but I can't be sure because the picture isn't head-on. Good shooting!!!
-
I figured the angle of the picture would prevent you from doing your thing. Thanks for your help buddy.
-
Here is my attempt. Looking at the other targets posted, I think I'm in the cellar again!

Well buddy, here's the way it is. I don't care which room in the house you are in. I just want you in the house shooting with the rest of us. :bl th up

Hey Kevin, it looks to me like you clipped the snake's chinny-chin-chin! If not, you helped him with shaving.....

Shot my snake today. Used my .33 cal percussion pistol. 25 yds, elbows rested on bench, gun supported with a 2 hand hold. Not offhand so not sure if that position counts? Looks like a score of 10 with a couple close ones. [ Invalid Attachment ]

I believe that's some impressive pistol shooting. Good shooting Paul.

Thanks, but my elbows were rested with 2 handed grip. I was going to go for the mid body shot and hope to hit it but changed my mind and went for the head shots instead. Challenging target to shoot at.
-
Irregardless, that's good shooting. And I'd say your pistol likes that load too. If you ever use a rifle, you'll probably put 5 shots in 1 hole. You're right about it being challenging. Mark keeps coming up with dandy targets.

From the man himself: "Shooters may use any position they wish, off-hand, sitting, kneeling. squatting, sitting or standing.

I would say that resting on the bench is no problem. Even if it is considered a rest (which I doubt) it is probably not adjustable! :lol sign

Kees is correct. I scored Paul's target as 15. nice shooting, Paul!!
-
Well here’s my September entries. Couldn’t even see the snake.
-
Just a tad bit of left wind blowin' them big balls off the mark, drats! :lol sign :luff:
-
Still a nice group tho ... Definitely minute of deer.

Well once again life got in the way. No shooting this month. My identity was stolen, and I have spent weeks working on that. What a mess that is. Had to change emails and bank accounts on everything and still doing it. We hosted 75 family members at our house for my wife's mothers 100th birthday and then off to Vermont for our 57th wedding anniversary.
-
Happy Anniversary.
-
Bad Luck on the Theft but Happy Anniversary!!
-
My Fault!! With everyone posting their own target, I got out of the habit of checking the Email address. I know that's a lame excuse.
Anyway, CWGrizz managed to send me his targets Monday evening, and here they are.
