Title: Pedersoli flint pistol
Post by: ridjrunr on July 16, 2009, 03:32:47 PM: Has anyone had any experiance with a Pedersoli flint lock pistol in .54 cal.?I mean mostly for reliability. It has about a 8 or 10" barrel. Dont know the model # cant remember. I think it is the Kentucky,as it is walnut.Overall cond about a 7 or 8 out of 10.Thanx for any input, ridjrunr

Post by: Roaddog on July 17, 2009, 04:57:14 AM: I have a 54 cal. and like it a lot. I took a deer with it 7 years ago. My GPR misfired so I plugged it with the pistol. I would jump on it if I were you.

Post by: Flinthawk on July 17, 2009, 11:36:04 PM: I have two .54 Pedersoli flintlock pistols and have had no problems. Ignition is great! I think the secret for good consistent ignition for my pistols is I use a very small amount of 4F BP for primer in the flashpan
and have the primer towards the edge of the flashpan opposite of the venthole. Accuracy is pretty good too. These are Kentucky style pistols!

Post by: Roaddog on July 27, 2009, 07:03:30 AM: I think they are 3/8". I'm glad to hear you got that pistol. They are a darned good shooter. I did a 25 yard site in and had to take a little off the front site. She is dead on if I do my part. Good luck and have fun with her.
