Ok Roaddog.

 - but there is not a lot to tell -

the flintlock is .50 cal and has an unmarked barrel likely NOS gathered up from Deer creek, Many of the parts were collected over several years.....the stock was a nice "80's" vintage maple someone had abused then given up on.....almost free is nice.....so I guess the flinter is sorta a vintage CVA mountainpistol and Deer Creek NOS along with parts gathered over years of parts scrounging...the front sight blades on all my personal CVA stuff are custom iron.... I have to order em and grind each to match. I have a matching Flint Mt. rifle and a matching pair in percussion as well.

The Kentucky is a .50 cal "newer CVA" (maybe?) barrel on a new "partly inlet" stock......both the flint and the Kentucky have Maslin style locks of differing vintage......My son's pistol has the original German silver front sight blade which matches his rifle.

The third one, a .45, is a collection of parts from at least three old Markwell kits (perhaps more). I had two partial kits and lots of junk parts. The quality of the hardware, castings, barrel and wood was - well - kinda crappy.... so I decided to try and spruce it up a bit and do what I could to  make things work out. I reworked the barrel as best I could to get the machine marks filed out and threading chips out of the breach - then got to work on the rest.
The wire work is hammered brass and the thumb-piece is an antique cast and tooled button from my g-grands button box....

All are sealed in many many coats of hand-rubbed linseed oil and finished with a combo of linseed mixed with beeswax.......

If you click on the photo and blow it up full size you'll notice I still have some work to do on the barrel tang to seat it properly into the lock/stock inlet. but that will get done as I'm continuing to finish the stock. It's actually the lock inlet for the bolster holding up the barrel a bit....

The fourth one I've been working on this spring (you can see the edge of it in the photo of the Markwell at the top of the screen sorta), is still on the bench, and really rough, there's a lot of work yet to do on it! but as soon as there's something to look at I'll post it.

I have some sighting in to do now - but I've got the warmer weather and summer ahead  :)  :)

Roaddog,
Thanks for the kind words of support - - for clarity it is my great grand ma's button box..... much of which is saved silver, ebony, brass, mother of Perl and other stuff from the late 1800's and early 1900's....... Great grand pa was a cobbler and his tools and thread and other things are somewhere at my mom's place...... I've used the buttons from that box for years for many things!........
:Doh!  funny how stuff "pack ratted"  away is of more value a hundred years later cause its better to fix stuff up with the "good old" stuff!!
!.........
