Title: my cannons
Post by: peterh on January 10, 2017, 09:51:03 PM
As i have posted about my mortar time to say a few words about my cannon/s.

I have a 1.25in bore ships cannon, fires a 6 once lead ball a mile?. I do live fire it a some events along side a 9 pound civil war cannon, but I dont get to aim it, have too many other people that want to, and they hit the target a 100 yards(I all ways miss).
It does get used at some civil war events and has a nick name of LITTLE LOUD MOUTH, blank charge of 1oz powder and 1oz non dairy creamer.

I have just brough a 1/2 scale mountion howlzer 1.5in bore but have not played with it yet(too cold outside), but will get it to a range when it warms up, and fix up the carriage.

Time to save up to buy a full size one, looking at a 3.5in bore ships cannon??.

My cannon can be heard up tp 1 mile away, we checked it out one time, 4 ounce blank charge and it was heard 1 mile away through woods. We were just out side the Wisconsin dells at a friend of mine.
The cannon is now known as Little Loud Mouth. Not sure about the mortar yet, but will check it out this year.

Peterh....Now THAT is what I call a Cannon!
You have some nice toys!

Can I bring my little cannons over so we can play.
Keep in mind, they're fairly little so we'll have to be careful not to step on 'em in the grass.... :lol sign
Real small bore stuff, so don't laugh too hard.

(The top one needs to be taken apart and cleaned real well with a Dremel Steel brush, another one of those chores where I'm waiting on a nice "Round-to-it" to come my way.)
