Title: Powder horn from Upstate New York
Post by: rollingb on July 24, 2020, 02:18:07 PM
I got this powder horn from a guy located in Upstate New York,.... the place of the powder horn's origin is unknown.

This horn is in great shape, and what may look like a crack in the mid-forward portion of the horn, is nothing more than a minor surface scratch in the horn's light patina.  :)

Base plug could use a little linseed oil, as the original finish is about gone.

Jim, spout hole is 1/4" ..... a little small for my preference but works okay for FFFG.  :hairy

Wouldn't be much of a job to open that up to 5/16" or so.  Ffg pours well out of that size opening.
