Title: FIrst attempt at 18th Century drop sleeve shirt

This is my first attempt at hand sewing an 18th Century drop sleeve shirt.  I've sewn a couple of hunting pouches and a haversack, but nothing this complicated or involved.  It took a bit of time to complete and, yes, there are a couple of flaws.  However, since I usually wear hunting shirt or frock as outer wear, the flaws won't be seen.  I am happy that the sleeves are the same length.

It was a good learning experience. I learned that when the spool of thread decides to jump off the table, it will always roll to the most inaccessible spot of the shop.  I learned that pins have points for two reasons, 1) to keep fabric together while sewing and 2) to remind you that they are still in the garment as you try it on.  I learned to always wear my sewing PPE, a wrist mounted pin cushion, as it hurts like the dickens when it's not being worn.

I made a new best friend during this, Seam Ripper.  Seam Ripper was my constant companion during this and proved to be an invaluable friend. and assistant.

I was actually thinking of doing that.  In addition to another shirt, it will keep in my small shop and out of the Head of Households hair  :luff:
