She's really windy here in PA. today, and the wind is coming from the west. I thought I could smell black powder smoke, and I bet it was from you. I know you, Salty, and I sent pictures of our targets so far. You seem to be the third one, and third time is a charm. Good luck buddy.

Well took a cold bore  poke at the shingle today before my postals.
No idea where it hit(missed)  but I sure didn't hit my backer let alone the shingle. Wah wah .

Kevin, Like you, I am not terribly primitive either.  And also like you, I go for the line, if you can't see it, it's OK.  These thread counter guys bring me nothing but irritation.  And at 78, I have no patience for these pompous clowns.  Actually, at 48 I had no patience for them, but it's just gotten worse as I have gotten older.
I have gone to and participated in primitive RDV's and I have gone to and participated in more relaxed ones, and frankly, I have enjoyed the more relaxed ones, like the CdA and the Moscow rendezvous.  I went to one down here and it appeared the uniform of the day was Levi's and T-shirts.  There was one primitive camp and the rest of the camps were either motor homes or 5th wheel trailers.  I'd say a good 40% of the shooting was done with BPCR rifles.  Not impressed at all.
I did participate for a few years at Spokane House, which was a trading post from 1810 to 1813, located at 9 Mile on the Spokane River, north of Spokane.  It was kind of fun, but it was more primitive than most.  A lot of the participants were AMM, so...
I portrayed the American Fur Co. factor

I would say go where you are comfortable being.

That's why you make the big bucks , huh buddy. Well Kees I did a little experimenting today. When I held the bernzomatic on one of those pieces of slag, there were pretty little silver, shiny drops falling into the pan. So here's what I think happened. My pot quit heating several minutes before I placed those pieces in. The molten lead remaining in the pot was getting cool. When those pieces of cool lead were put in, the other lead in the pot cooled even quicker, forming that ugly slag in the picture. Thanks for everyone's help.

Good idea Kees. I live about 150 yds. away from a Family Dollar store. But it's not that thrifty.

I meant the second hand stores, not Family Dollar or Dollar General!   :lol sign
