That brings up a question I've had bounce'n around in my noggin for more than 45 years,.... back in the old trappin' days, when someone made mention of their "riflegun", could they have been referring to a smoothbore trade gun "loaded with ball", and NOT an actual rifle?

Nope. The addition of a ball doesn't put rifeling in the barrel. We can go on,but let's not highjack this thread. I'll start another in "Smoothbores" See ya there!

Here's a target. Shot yesterday, 60 g. 3f = #7 lead shot. 2 1/8" cards over pwdr, & 1 overall & 20 yd. 34 hit's on top 1/2 & 43 on bottom 1/2 !! I think "Moderate felt recoil, nothing like a modern 3" 12...I'm happy & so is guy who ordered one like it....Tom

Tom, is that a regular 8.5 x 11 piece of paper?
At twenty yds, that ain't shabby at all!
43 hits bottom half, 34 top half....70+ shot on that size of paper is not bad at all, considering there's only about 300 pellets in a full ounce of shot in that size, if I remember right.
