Cabin Fever

To darn cold to work in the workshop and to darn cold to go shooting... However, my wife has plans for me to help take down the rest of the Christmas decorations... :Doh!  No, I really don't mind helping do it, the tree has been down for over a week and that's always the big "decoration" so the little stuff should be a breeze - as long as I don't put something in the wrong box... :lol sign

I'm a sitting here thinking to myself, what will be my next project once we start getting decent weather, and to be quite honest, I just can't think of a thing at this point... Oh, I have enough parts laying around to build a couple muzzleloding rifles, or maybe even a pistol,,, but I just have to motivate myself to do it - if I do it at all???

What's the rest of you up to out there in TMA land a'doing? I will admit, I'm now a fair weather person, and it needs to be at least in the 40's to get me motivated to some kind of action... :laffing

Well, Joe, I'll tell you, late last year I decided that my New Year's Resolution was going to be to retire from powder horn making effective 1/1/2020.  So, what I am up to is cleaning out my horn shop.  Evidently, Ms. Smoke has plans on making it her office.  So far, I have gotten all the tools off the wall and a chest of drawers emptied of all the tools, etc. that were in it.  The tools have been sorted into keep and sell boxes.  So, that part of the job is progressing well.  When I get that all done, I reckon it will be time to put all the shop equipment up for sale.  So, it will be farewell to the band saw, the drill press, the 12" disc sander, the flapper sander, the bench router, etc.  I think I will keep the wood lathe, might give making pens a go.  It's kinda fun.  Also thinking about getting a metal lathe.  Years ago up in Idaho I had a Smithy.  Fun little toy with a metal lathe and a mill in a rather handy layout.  But, that's just an idea for now.
So, that's my story and I'm gonna stick to it, for a while, anyhow.

Just bought three big leather hides, to keep me busy awhile. One veg tan side, a chrome tanned, oiled side and a pinkish hide to make the spousal unit a new concealed carry purse. Probably gotta do that one first!
