A little update.
Making some progress on #2 and #3.
The thing im finding difficult is the vision of what to make with each horn I start.
When to use a fiddle peg or an applied tip , should I engrail it
Flat horn,  day horn, suppy horn etc.  Decisions decisions.
I do have a large horn which will become a drinking horn at some point.

Thanks .
Petah I did a peg with the flat horn  [ Invalid Attachment ]
Still need to pretty up the bone tip some.
 Still perfecting my scrim work.
[ Invalid Attachment ] .  A little Irish horn , I'll use some color for the shamrocks around the trellis.
Maybe add a vine or something.

Now, THAT'S something I tried several times, but discovered scrim was waaaay above my pay grade.   ;banghead;

Looks like a good start, though, Kevin.

This is a combo of stencil for the lettering and free hand for the shamrocks etc.
I use a font generator to find a style I like and transfer that to be horn.
Then sit in my comfy chair in front of the idiot box and I scrim when the commercials come on. 1-2 hrs a night.
Just go slow and inch by inch.  It's really not hard at all.
Plenty of videos out there.  That's how I'm learning.
Go for it.

For someone who is just starting out, you are doing great!  I have never tried making a horn and I have my doubts if I could do anything near to what you are accomplishing.  I am envious of your abilities!   :toast

I'm appreciate the praise.
I'm not very artistic but I can follow instruction and pay attention to detail.
I just watch a lot of YouTube and then give something a shot .
Just picked up a couple leather shoulders to make a possible bag and a few other things .
Just try. Whats the worst that can happen.
