I had a .58 cal.  I could shoot about a 10" group at 30 yards as long as I aimed about 14" low of bulleyes.  Got rid of it as fast as I could.  It was sort of a gimme and was not worth a hoot.  It was an Italian replica.

I hear some have models that really do perform, but it was not a 'frontier style' that I like anyway.

Now that I got that off my chest - good luck with it!

I have a Euroarms Zouave.  It is quite accurate.  I use 85 gr of 2F and the Lyman 575-213 510 gr minnie from TOW.  I lubricate with crisco.

If I remember right the original [repro] recommended load was 70 or 75 gr ffg and a minie bullet.  I used to shoot my budy's Zouave way back in ca. 1961 when they first started importing them. I have a chart somewhere that gives loads--I'll try to find it.

Original powder charge was 60 grains musket powder, ffg.  Many use about 40-45 grains of fffg.  Your minie should be about .002 under bore size and must be made of soft pure lead or won't expand and engage the rifling properly.  It can take a lot of experimenting on powder charges and bullets to get these things shooting well.

It was the first muzzleloader I shot ,an older fellow used to take me shooting when I was akid -his whole house was lined with guns -they were his biggest interest and if I bought the ammo he'd let me use any gun I wanted ,that gun impressed me and one day I'll get one.good luck!
I go forth armed and girded as a free man.
