Reckon that in days of yore, that was why they made multiple barreled pistols.
Always thought the "Duckfoot" pistol was kinda neat.  Wouldn't win many target matches with it, but it would clear a hallway pretty good.

yep - duckfoot, or pepperbox, or dual/quad derringer, all allow a followup ball or two to make sure el diabolo goes down for the count.  luckily, mine has 17.  life is good.
