Guess I should have posted some time ago.
If you have any questions about traditional blackpowder, shooting
or hunting, please feel free to PM me. I will make every effort
to get you an answer.
One question that comes up from time to time is can I carry a
B/P handgun while hunting with a longrifle. The answer in a
nutshell is absolutely not. It is my understanding it is illegal
to hunt anything in Ohio with a M/L handgun.(even those
wanna be....M/L)

I have noticed over the years there seems to be less shoots here in Ohio and when there is some type of shoot, club event or gathering it is kept kinda quiet no real advertisement. One of the complaints I have heard is that less folks are showing up at the shoots. Is there anyone making an effort to get more networking and multi club events coordinated. Thanks.

Okay, you're with Central Ohio Coonhunters, right? I'll be at the shoot in March. Damn glad to see a regular shoot an hour from home. I'll be printing off a few of your flyers and posting them around.

Here in my part of the state, west central, cowboy action has killed off most of our clubs. There's a few clubs left, but only one, Ft Greeneville, has regularly monthly shoots in the "old way". 3rd sunday of every month. Mostly paper targets though!

Canter's Cave still does a woods walk/Rendezvous in May and October.  It's a small doins' but a fun shoot and the folks are pretty dang nice.

Just found this site. Greene County Fish and Game just had a Rendezvous over the Labor Day Weekend.  They will have a fall Rendezvous October 24 - 25 2015.  (Xenia Ohio).  Woods walk and traditional archery, knife and hawk.  One day is smoothbore only and one day is rifle.

Any doings down here in SE Ohio?  I keep missing Canter's Cave and that isn't all that far away, but with the missus needing me around I can only squeeze a few hours in once in a while.  Then I mostly go over to the Athens Fish & Game Club range and burn powder for postal shoots since that is only 1/2 hour's drive from home.
