Our youngest son came home from college for a visit this weekend.  I didn't get to camp, but I did walk in and visit a voo for a while Saturday morning.  There were maybe 10 camps?  Much smaller than in the past.

I have noticed a direct correlation; the clubs that don't advertise their events are getting smaller and smaller.  I'm not sure if the lack of advertisement is just an oversight or a deliberate action to maintain a small group.

I do attend a few " by invitation only" rendezvous.  These events are held on private property and the property owner limits liability risks by inviting only people they know won't use the legal system to steal.  However, these events usually have 30 or more camps because there is communication to let folks know when the event will be held.

My point is: If you want to keep your event alive you have to bring in new members.
If you are neglecting to advertise your events the perceived message is "you ain't welcome". If that isn't the intended message then you need to get your fliers distributed early and often.  Communication with other clubs and events in your area doesn't hurt either.

"If you are neglecting to advertise your events the perceived message is "you ain't welcome"".............

It don't get no plainer than this.
I hope the TMA can be of some help in getting this accomplished for our many small groups.
The use of your own forum right here can be a lot of help, but there's just nothing that beats the old hand-out Flyer, especially when it's handed from person to person, that's what it takes to make a guy feel really welcome.

Steve, PD, and all you guys in that "Texas Group", we are all just downright proud of the whole bunch of ya!

Not to my knowledge.  Frozen Foot is shaping up to be another good one.  I hope the weather man is kind to us again this year.
