I have my in-the-white squirrel rifle from Wyomingsmith. I don't want to screw this up (too much).
Here's how I think I sould proceed:
1) Remove all the metal parts and file, sand and polish them to finish.
2) While the metal is out, sand the stock to 400 grit, whet and raise the grain a few times, each time sand with 400 grit to remove the whiskers
3) Replace metal parts, sand/finish wood to metal fit.
4) Stain and seal stock
5) Brown metal
6) Re-assemble and start shootin' at things.
Will this get me from here to there?
