A good friend I used to run with in ID had contacted me inquiring if I was interested in a .36 he had and felt he had no use for. Well I received it today and can say I am REAL excited to get to the range and try this one out. I'll get some pix up after work tonight but till then, it's a half stock, curly maple,L&R flint,GM 36", .36 cal.,ds triggers, German silver trimmings. It's a custom Ohio style rifle.
In the mean time, all you ..36 shooters, please share your loads you have worked up. I have a couple boxes of .350 rb to start out with. I realize ea.rifle is different and I will need to work my load up to my gun.

My small game load for my SMR .36 is 20 grains of 3F, .350" ball and a .024" patch lubed with Hoppes.  Thirty grains is just as accurate but gains nothing other than power and more powder.

X2 with Hanshi. My Douglas barrel uses a .015 patch though. 20gr-3f is plenty for general shooting. It'll hit about like a 38spl. It's a great little caliber, that ain't so little on the other end!

at least I'm pretty shure , eventually I may make some loading blocks. I have a bunch of patches that are measuring .016 and for some reason there are a few lubed patches that measure .021. I think I bought those patches at a flea market.
Anyways, here she be

Don't ya just love it when people have something like that and don't have any use for it?  And you wind up with it?
Never had much to do with .36 cal rifles, but hear they are a lot of fun.  Gotta be 1/4 the cost to shoot as the ones I like.
Range report is due any time.

Well, today was our monthly club meeting, shoot and Christmas potluck at Aurora. I only had time to fire off a few shots before the actual club shoot which I was in charge of. The very first shot was three inches low@ 6 o,clock,30 yards. Using 20g, FFF, .016 patch and .350 rb.
I will have to wait till Christmas break to get out there and give it the serious tweaking, but by all signs,I think I will really end up liking this rifle. It's 14 3/8" pull is great, it has a wonderfull trigger and loads very smoothly shooting with Hoppes BP+ as a lube.
More updates later.
