This weekend (6/26/15-6/28/15) is the annual United Bowhunters of Missouri Rendezvous. One of the activities at the event are the can raffles where folks buy tickets and drop the tickets in the can next to the item they would like to win. All the items in the raffle are things that people have donated to the cause. I usually make a couple of arm guards and donate them but this year I got ambitious and made this side quiver. I was afraid that I wouldn't get in done in time but lucked out and had almost a week to spare! Hopefully, the club will make a couple of dollars off of it.
The body of the quiver and the strap are made from bison leather and the tan trim is deer. The orange leather is Honduran caiman as well as the black arrowhead. The lettering is ring lizard and the scaled leather is actually tanned carp hide. I carved the buttons out of deer antler and the hanging ring out of moose antler. Everything was sewn by hand using artificial sinew.
