Hard to believe
« on: July 16, 2016, 09:51:02 PM »

The above is from the Fresno Bee, June, 1946.
Although to my family, the feature article about my grandfather, Rocco Manuto, is the most important, what struck me as funny was the little article at the top left about the rabbit hunt around Livingston, CA.
Notice the date, June, 1946, perfectly normal without any fanfare, protests, parades or whatever.
Can you imagine the reaction today if that were done in California?  My goodness, PETA sit ins, protest marches, whackos throwing blood on bystanders, and so forth.
Gosh, I do miss the old times.  What a difference only 70 years makes.
I recollect about 20 years ago, there were huge protests about large scale rabbit hunts in south east Idaho.  The bunny huggers are everywhere.
