I just looked at the 2nd. link again, and I still don't see what facebook itself, has to offer that our TMA site doesn't.

Maybe I'm missin' sumpthin'?  :)

Not much the FB page is a continuous 3 or 4 topics beat to death. Guys looking for parts or kits. You give them advice even go as far to locate a part then they are gone. I message guys who are all fired up to purchase an item and as soon as the conversation starts they are off on some other point of light. They go from a / er the so called cheap kit to a hand build House rifle.

Half of them have to be on meds or drinking. One day the conversation is so sideways it can't be followed. The next day is a complete opposite pattern, like they are coherent.

Guys will post the same question on 50 forums?? IMO they are just eating up time. I check there pages and don't see one gun or dead animal.

Many times I have to leave and not return cause my reply would not be nice.

Don't know they trolls like Face Book cause they can hide.

It is the same thing over and over. Bill, you're right. They're either hitting the sauce or off their meds. Or the one guy who reposts other people's photos...

Needs to there to get people over here. There needs to be more here. More forums, like there used to be.

I have unsubscribed the Facebook group.  Tired of answering a question and then being insulted.

Understand completely... Sad to say unfortunately that's the nature of non'controlled Facebook media. I think there are always going to be those that go to FB just to stir the pot... In this case it gives the TMA a black eye by someone who most likely isn't even a supporting member...

Could an admin of the page.block the troublemakers? I know that may be labor intensive.

It sounds good Bull, but who's gonna set and watch Facebook 24/7 ? I just don't think it's doable...

I guess we could issue a viewing / posting warning; "view & post on the pages of TMA Facebook at your own risk" :laffing :Doh!

Seriously, I really don't think there's much anyone can do other then write off Facebook and simply come to the TMA Forum.  :shake

Well, this morning I took my own advice and deleted my TMA Facebook Links... I Simply see no value in them what-so-ever... I did keep a couple FB pages that I deem valuable not only to myself, but also to the preservation of the muzzleloading sports, hobby's & hunting,,, without all the BS, and they have a good video selection...

I deleted my entire Facebook account a couple of years ago and I really haven't missed it at all.

FACEBOOK FACTS ...

facebook is zuckerberg's progressive liberal social media tool - he owns and controls it, it's his sandbox, all users are his guests.

facebook is a left-leaning, anti-gun, anti-speech, management controlled environment.

facebook has a linear format that is not user interactive friendly and makes it's long, ONE, linear, continuous thread difficult if not impossible to search or make sense of current posts versus posts from a few hours or days or weeks or months old.

facebook page "owners" have little control over their page users.

facebook TMA users are not part of the TMA's real home (the TMA forum) where strength in numbers is required for both a national presence and to acquire paying TMA sponsorships.

facebook software and controls are extremely convoluted and complex - navigating what you can and can't do are intentionally obfuscated to its users.

facebook, however,  is extremely mobile device friendly, making for an easy cellphone access and posting experience.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

currently, there are more TMA facebook registrants (6000 or more - riley?) than TMA forum registrants (4200).

the world is rapidly moving away from real computers (laptops and desktops) and moving at light speed toward accessing the internet via mobile devices (by far, mostly smart phones).  this is clearly evident by young and old alike.  if a website isn't "mobile friendly" then that's a big turn off for potential users.  this makes facebook mobile better than TMA non-mobile.

HOWEVER, my research shows that there is a trend back to forum sites over social media sites.  why?  forums are FAR more interactive friendly, and that makes huge sense.  plus, when you OWN a forum, you have much more CONTROL over your world.

the TMA needs to be user mobile friendly, and now we are.  click on menu item "profile", click on "look and layout", click on "(change)" for the current theme, scroll down to the bottom of the screen to "Ant's Responsive Curve RC3.14159", click on "[use this theme]" and your TMA forum access will be mobile friendly (as well as computer friendly).  this special theme software that i've installed is evolving and getting better, so there will be future updates that make TMA forum mobile access the best it can be.

do we still need a TMA facebook?  ABSOLUTELY.  we just need to be smart about its use.

so, what to do with those thousands of TMA facebook users, and WHY?  you tell me.

r.

I'm  new here and I use Facebook in my own commercial pursuits, running a saltwater guide boat.  It helps me keep in touch with past clients that are FB users.  It doesn't really help me find new clients.

I joined this forum because it appeared to have many knowledgeable people that were/are willing to answer questions.  I also found a wealth of information in past messages.

I followed the link to your FB page once, didn't see much there so I read here.

I do all my reading on a Samsung Note.  I almost never use my laptop, only at tax time.

This is just some user feedback.

welcome to the TMA and thanx for your input.

i see you're using the forum default theme.  have you tried the TMA mobile theme, and without using tapatalk?

that's what i'd expect to see the TMA facebook page do best - steer interested parties here, to the "TMA home page", the source that's easy to navigate, search out information, form good interactive dialogues.

cheers,
rob.
