One of the better investments I have made is The Blue Book of Modern Black Powder Arms. Full of information on 20th Century black powder rifles and pistols. Lots of interesting reading as well, backgrounds on various guns, etc. Mowrey Gun Works, Inc.
Prevous manufacturer and distributor located in Waldren, IN until 2006. Previously manufactured in Saginaw, TX. Previously distributed exclusively by Mountain State Muzzle Loaders Supplies, Inc.
1:30" twist rifling was designed specifically to stabilize conical bullets.
The kit guns came in four different models: The Plains Rifle, The Rocky Mountain Hunter, The Silhouette Rifle and the Squirrel Rifle. These were only available in kit form. And they were discontinued in 2006.
Plains Rifle - .50 or .54 Caliber Last MSR (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail) = $345
Rocky Mountain Hunter .50 or .54 cal Last MSR = $345
Silhouette Rifle - .40 Caliber Last MSR = $345
Squirrel Rifle - .32, .36 or .45 caliber last MSR = $345
There was a bit more printed under General Information, but I did not include it. Not feeling much like a clerk/typist this AM.
They also produced an underhammer design (two models) and a 12 ga and a 28 ga shotgun as well. Last MSR on both shotguns was $350.
That ought to give you a start. Hope it helps. This is a 2009 edition of the book, so details might not be current, especially prices.
