Most of you know the difficulties I have had getting photos loaded here on the Forum...Well, I have decided that I WILL find out why, and get this straightened out. I am making serious progress...

First, my good camera was taking photos in a RAW format which isn't allowed here. Then the photos were drastically, overwhelmingly, FAR TOO LARGE. When I used different programs to reduce the pixel size of my photos...they were still in the wrong format...lol.

Now, I have started using a different camera and am making sure the format is correct. And I have also learned how to reduce the pixel size of my photos, and about the proper procedure for posting these photos on the Forum.

Long story short...I am getting there...persistence pays off... :lol sign

Good on you Ray!   :toast

Personally,  I have found nothing wrong with uploading the pictures I think I will be sharing to a web host such as Imgur, or a dozen other good ones out there.
They are designed to do just what you're doing, adjusting the picture, the scan, or whatever, to be posted on a web forum, or email, or wherever you want to use picture on the internet.
www.imgur.com  give it a look-see, or any of the other photo web hosts, and see what ya think.
It just might save ya a lot of heartache.

The "good" camera probably has a setting for what format it saves the photo in.  I set mine to .jpg which gives a smaller file than .gif or .pdf, at least it does for me.  Other folks may have way different experience than me of course....

I have two digital cameras, both are 8 to 10 years old, and both take excellent pictures. One is a Sony, the other is a Nikon.
However, and this is a big "however", I never have them with me at the right time, so I'm stuck with a Cell Phone, and my current Cell Phone ain't worth the powder it would take to blow it up, although I paid enough for that stupid thing to buy a couple cases of Goex.
I'm going to trash that thing and get me a Flip-Phone with a good camera on it, and a "universal USB cord" so that I can download the pictures to my computer.
Life is just too darn short to have a stupid phone causing even more misery.
That me story, and if you know me you well know that's exactly how it's going to go down.

Kees, you are right on target. I had mine set on RAW which gives highest quality. I have reset it to .JPG...huge difference.

Ray, you're not the first one to have trouble with technology - I certainly have had my share... The one thing I always say to myself (and never seem to live by it) "once this technology goes belly up on me, I'm not replacing it..." Well, I end up doing it any way...lol!!! With help of course...  :toast
