2019 TMA Christmas Drawing
« on: December 05, 2019, 07:42:31 PM »
Wow,...... I just got home and checked my mail, and there was a box from Mad Irish Jack waiting for me.  :applaud
I opened the box and it was stuffed with goodies like, a camp collapsible canvas water bucket, a pair of stocking garters, 2 ball bags, and a pair of woven mitts.  :applaud :bl th up ;D

Thank you Mad Irish Jack for the nice gifts.  :shake :bow

I'd also like to mention in this post that I don't know much about PeaShooterJoe, or where his traditional muzzleloading interests lay,.... so Joe,... if you don't have much use for what I sent you, please PM me with a bit of information about yourself, and I'll include something different.  :bl th up :shake :toast :)

For only $1.25 per-month, you too can help preserve our traditional muzzleloading heritage.

Hey Dan!!...If ya can hear me...I put your box on a fast mule this morning.  If they don't have to re-shoe him...he should get to your neighborhood on the 14th

Thank you Jake!
Some gifts are made for "lookin" while others are made to use.
I hope you get a lot of use outta your gift.
And, May God bless you and yours too!

I should have posted this sooner, but I received a nice box from Beaverman in the mail last week.  He had ordered me NOT to open it until Christmas but then relented and said he was just kidding.  As soon as I read that I ripped the package open and found a lovely bullet pouch? container? flask?  I'm not sure what it would be called since it is made of leather but a hard shell, so not floppy like a pouch.  Anyway, it has already been filled with .54 balls in preparation for the next outing.  Thank you for the great and useful gift!

A big shout out to our friend Dan Herda!
 :hairy

I received my gift on Saturday evening, didn't get to open it 'till late last night due to other Holiday commitments.
BTW: I made this same post last night shortly before 11pm, but I was wasn't fast enough I guess,  because of the "System" goes down every night at 11 pm, my time, for System Maintenance, or whatever it does...but from 11 pm until about 11:10 or 11:15, forget it,......you cant get on if you live on the West Coast.

Anyway, I received a beautiful book; Steel Canvas; "The art of American Arms" by R.L.Wison
It has full-color pages, It has the History of the gun and the engraver that did all the work, to include the beautiful inlays.

These are all "Classic Guns" by Master Gunsmiths and Master Engravers. It has a Glossary, a very in-depth Bibliography, and a 10 page Index....I haven't been able to put it down today, and Mama Bear has yelled at me most of the time.

I also received a very nice Flat Horn, or Pouch Horn, that I believe Dan did himself...it is absolutely stunning
.

The book with the Horn;

Open pages of the book....

There are long rifles of every make / model / also...

Thank you Dan...a wonderful Christmas Present!   :bow   :bow

And I also received a gift.  This from Peashooter Joe.  Unlike everyone else, I think I will be able to restrain myself until Christmas Day.  I think.  So far, I am making it.
So, thank you Joe, I do appreciate your gift and I am surely looking forward to seeing what is in that mysterious box.

Good on you John!
Now I'll tell you another little Christmas Gift story....a week or so ago I bought a little item from one of our more stalwart members, a nice little item, in fact, and it promptly arrived, as do all things purchased from this nice fella.
It was packed all nice, in a nice box, however that same package contained a surprise Christmas Gift along with the item purchased.
That gift is safely wrapped and contains a rather one sided but nice note regarding instructions on opening, and says in bold letters, NOT TO OPEN BEFORE CHRISTMAS!
I almost know for sure what the item is, and I'm very anxious to look at it, maybe even play with it a little bit.... but there's that stupid note!
I think that "note" was never necessary in the safe packaging of the gift.....that's what I think!
I also think such things borders Closely on cruel and unusual  punishment, especially to an old guy that has the willpower of a big ol' nightcrawler!
I certainly appreciate the gift, and one hundred thanks for the thoughtfulness.
I know this "stalwart Member" pretty good, and I just want to let him know that payback is the mother of all pain....Jus'sayin
