-well- they didn't mention this;

When you're 62 yrs 8 mo - and the temperature outside is 48 degrees - well that must be the new 28 degrees outside...

I'm pretty sure that 70 is the new 69, and that sucks.  :lol sign

All you kids "chill out" and enjoy the cold weather....any weather, in fact.

Most of us are representing the geriatric side of this sport anyway and we should be thankful for every day we are on the upside of the grass, whether it's a bit cool, cold, warm, hot, no matter what the weather is, we gotta love it....'cause it's another day with black powder and white smoke, and this has got to be pleasing to the inner soul.
BTW: I'm so close to 80, I can sometimes actually smell it.

Thanks for making me feel young again.  :hairy
The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.

Lot's of wisdom here!  :hairy

There's another saying,,, "you're only as old as you feel..."

Even though I get cold easily (poor circulation I expect), this kind'a weather just cuts into my tinkering time in my workshop, even though I have a propane heater... :laffing

Might be time to make some shootin' bags... I can do that in the house...  :bl th up

No it don't bro!  :bow  :lol sign

You'd probably just as soon that date could be done away with totally, that's my best guess..
You know all to well THAT exact date, 'cause every time my odometer clicks over I think to myself, "Dang, old Hank done got
himself another year on, wonder how he's doing".......

So do I!!!
We're a couple generations removed from modern youth thinking, and the Advertisements of today seems to no longer cater to the younger generation with a Traditional Muzzleloader!
Everyone today seems to want to be able to shoot through 3 Zip Codes to harvest game....and that just ain't right!

As a part of a ministry that uses pre-1840 reenactment as a tool, we strive to keep the hobby alive, including a deep love of shooting smoke poles.

You're on the money there, Russ...

Much of it may be a result of having been at war since (and before) 9/11... When we were kids it was just a matter of time before we got "nuked" - you couldn't arm yourself with small arms and defend against that sort of thing, so we forged ahead and enjoyed the hunting and the hobby, always under the threat of mass destruction out of the sky... Now (sadly to say) everyone has to look over their shoulder 'cause you don't know where the next attack is coming from - so you arm yourself in the best way to protect your family,,, and I know we're all aware of that... No doubt we could write volumes about the last 20+ years... And the previous 20 years before that, and so on...
