Let's take a member survey ...

What are your preferences for target faces?

(1) TMA print out

-or-

(2) NRA store bought

???

TMA print out is my preference. Nothing to buy and cheap and easy to either print at home or photocopy from one master.

The concern is with printing out the TMA target face.

How many folks have printers these days?

There might also be the quality of the printed target face.

I'd really like to hear from more folks about this target face business.

Personally, I would prefer the TQ-4P NRA target. I get mine from

https://www.pistoleer.com/shooting-targets/rifle/

and they are a quality target and way cheaper then printing your own targets at home. ($17.54 for 100 TQ-4 Targets shipped to your door)... Do the math. You can't buy ink cartridges and paper for that.

If you prefer you can buy; 25, 50, or 75, and it will still be cheaper then ink cartridges, obviously...

Aside from the huge savings in ink cartridges, these TQ-4P targets are all uniform in size and color.

And - your ball cuts a very good easy scoring hole which is a very big plus.

All very good concerns for sure...

Personally, I'm down to one printer, but at $35.00 + for both the (black and color) ink cartridges, I'll buy my targets. I'll never print another target - just way to expensive in the long run... And even in the short run...  :shake

Sorry, but the; "Nothing to buy and cheap" is simply not the case I'd bet for most folks, if any.

I'd prefer  the TMA print out, simply because I have a laser printer.
But like KDub said " I'm in it either way.

I believe we are over-thinking this; after all, it's just a fun match for us to get out and shoot.  I vote we leave it the way it is, you pick the target you want to use whether you print it out or buy it.  Just go out to the range starting April first and burn some powder, and we'll see who does the best.

I will suggest that we send the photo or scan of the target to Rob in a PM, and that they don't get posted to the website until that month's shooting is over.  I say this because otherwise some of us may get discouraged and not shoot if we see several very good targets already shot.

I'm looking forward to April already, have to practice dry firing this winter to get an edge up for when I get out to the range!  And thank you Rob, for putting this on and putting up with all our suggestions!

Count me in.   :hairy  It's become an addiction.
The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.

Well, I do have a pretty good printer.  Print,  scan, copy and fax.  A large ink for black seems to last nearly forever.
Personally, I would just as soon print the targets, but as Joe says, the preprinted targets are cheap enough.
Another thing to take into consideration is that you are just printing a few targets at a time, not a whole slew of them.  I think in the grand scheme of things, the cost of printing targets is as nothing.
So, my vote is either way you want to run it.  Of course, not shooting much, my vote really isn't worth much.

All voices count here at TMA, thank you!

As noted above in the match rules post, the 2021 TMA Postal Match will feature "shooter's choice" ...

!*!*!*! SHOOT EITHER THE "YOU PRINT" TMA TARGET FACE or the PREPRINTED NRA TARGET FACE or SHOOT 'EM BOTH !*!*!*!

The Mike Fink target face will be shot once, during one announced month - also OPTIONAL.
