Thimble screw
« on: November 16, 2020, 10:24:55 PM »
I have an Investarms .50 cal rifle.  I need the screw that screws the thimble to the barrel.  Does anyone know what the screw size is for this rifle?  Thanks for any help><> ole scratch

I don't know what size the screw is offhand, but I'm sure it's metric.  :bl th up

If it were me,.... I'd take the screw out of the other thimble, and take it to my local hardware store to see if they can match it.  :bl th up

I would do that but the other thimble is gone along with the screw.  I may go buy a few different sizes and see if one fits.  Thanks

.

TOTW has a plethora of screws to choose from:   https://www.trackofthewolf.com/list/Item.aspx/855/4

AFAIK, the Investarms/Lyman uses 6-48-x-1/8" screws.

A call to TOTW might verify the size.

I'm pretty sure the screws for the Investarms/Lyman are metric, here's a link to the ramrod pipe (thimble) screws for the Italian made guns,....     https://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/855/3/SCREW-3.5-.6MM-IA-ROD-PIPE  :bl th up  :bl th up
