My Fly Has Flown!
« on: March 04, 2021, 05:26:28 PM »
And I don't know where to find him!  T/C Hawken cap gun, lost the fly in the garage/shop which has a brick floor with way too much junk, and now it is impossible to see such a small speck of a part.  Does anyone have a good source for one?  Numrich and everyone else seems to be sold out.  There are two on fleabay and I may have to go that route.

I used to get a lot of T/C lock parts from Log Cabin Sport Shop.
Of course, that was long ago and far away, in a different galaxy.  Before StarWars. actually.
They might still maintain an inventory of things like that.  Dunno.  Been decades since I was a RDV trader.  No idea what finally happened to all those parts, must have sold them to someone???

Thank Joe, I have a request in to their customer service department.  I just have to be patient and hopefully they will not tell me to look elsewhere.  I'm going to try Log Cabin also, per John's suggestion.  Otherwise it's going to be Fleabay, much as I don't like going there!  :laffing :laffing :laffing

You do know that as soon as you buy one, you'll find the one that fell... Least ways that's usually my luck with things... Regardless, hope you get it fixed.  :shake

Clean living pays off again!  I just got an email from Suzi at The Gun Works that she can provide me with one for $6 + shipping.  Life is good.  And for those needing T/C parts, http://thegunworks.com/ is the place to go, highly recommended by me.

.

I keep a flashlight & a strong horseshoe magnet on hand to troll my shop's workbench area for parts that have gone walkabout - especially under the bench, where it's darker than my soul.

The above Link would make a good "sticky" IMHO. Perhaps here on the Gun Building / Repair Forum Board?

And I would enthusiastically second that recommendation.  And good people to boot.

I highly recommend the Gunworks as well.  Have saved my bacon a couple of times.   :yessir:

Suzi came through like a champ, the fly is installed and all is well again.

I called today and ordered their catalog, then jawed with her a little.  In the late 1980s, early 1990s when living in Oregon I would visit a small gun shop but I just couldn't remember exactly where or who.  After talking to her I confirmed that it was their shop and that it was Joe I would talk to.  She said she appreciated my remembering him and the good conversations we had.  If any of  you had contact with Joe you might call her up and tell her about good experiences with him.

I may do that yet, but this summer when I clean all the junk out of the garage/shop.  At least, that's the plan right now.... :laffing
