Built a new stand for my bag target over the weekend
« on: June 01, 2021, 12:38:44 PM »
The wooden stand I had built to hold my bag and moose target was getting rickety so I decided to design one out of PVC pipe that I think will hold up better. I am a nerd at heart with access to some expensive, high-end 3D modeling software so I really enjoyed designing the new stand. I even modeled the carabiners clipping the bag to the eye bolts. I built the real thing over the weekend and, in this case, life really does imitate art!

Pretty neat, Darren.
Does it break down for transport or storage or is it WYSIWYG?

On this iteration, I glued the left and right braces together and the upright holding the target is glued. You can pull the upright out of the sleeves and pull the horizontal braces out making it very easy to store and transport.

I like it!  :hairy

I also like shooting a hanging clay in front of my archery target... Now that's some good fun!  :hairy

Very nice intricate work!

I have made a pile of these over the years, mostly when I gave a newbie a bow and a coffee bag full of scrap plastic so they would have something to learn on. The downside of PVC is some time you will shoot an arrant arrow and have to do some pipe splicing.
