Bear grease/bees wax for patch lube

(1/2) > >>

Swamppanther:
Just got 3 4oz  tins of 50/50 bear grease/bees wax  and  it was more  than  i was expecting.
One tin should  last long  time. Anyone  know if it will "KEEP" or should I freeze other two tins.
Been using straight Ballistol as patch lube (spray and let dry) so this stuff new to me.

ridjrunr:
My experience is that it does not go bad. Mine is in plastic bottles and in the garage that gets hot in the summer.
Great stuff btw

What ridjrunr said.  :hairy

Bigsmoke:
In my experience, the grease lubes are better suited for hunting purposes.
The wet patch lubes, from saliva to the commercial lubes from Hoppes 9+, etc, to the all too many homebrewed ones are best for range shooting.
But, of course, YMMV, and it often does.
You just have to try ones and see what works best for you.
My personal favorite wet lube and bore solvent is Ol' Thunder.  Good stuff.

I use a crisco / beeswax for a lube,I’ve had it a few years, since it made it,I would not eat it but my rifle gobbles it   Like candy whenever it’s offered, but that rifle is a pig,it would gobble grease from the driveway if I let it!
