Joe, I read that article yesterday and just shook my head. Our forefathers had the grit to hunt grizzlies and defend themselves against hostiles with single shot muzzleloaders. Their courage allowed our generation to become a reality. Their rifles, and the ones we use too, are monuments to them and are a part of our history. I hate to say it, but the sad truth is that we reap what we sow. We ought to ask ourselves if we can take a fraction of their strength and muster the courage to let our lawmakers know our feelings on topics like this. IMHO if we don't attend and voice our opinions at meetings, and write, or at a minimum, call our legislators on a regular basis, and in general make ourselves heard, we will soon find those smokepoles that we so love on a list of banned "weapons of war". The squeaky wheel still gets the grease.
