I never really considered myself one of the founders. The concept, which was quite encompassing and broad, came from the others mentioned, and they worked long and hard on what they envisioned the group should be. By that I mean weeks, months and years! They had a wealth of buckskinner knowledge and background that far surpassed anything I had been exposed to.
Then they dropped it in my lap to somehow figure how to make it happen from the technical standpoint. This was a task for which I was compensated in the form of one buffalo robe, donated by rollingb. There were others who came after who had a great, and indispensable influence on how the group would be shaped and managed going forward. That was one hell of an experience, will tell ya.
I would not want to credit any one person for the mountain of work and dedication, and all the debate and bickering that entailed, to get the albatross off the ground. But, will say there was none better to work with than the official first president of the TMA, Dave Poss (Longknife). He was something else (and so was his wife, who didn't shy away from a pivotal role).
Best to all buckskinners, ya bunch'a no-good potlickers, jimmeeeee veeeee
