This will be another first for me.Gonna try to post a picture. This is pretty ugly horn#2.The fellow who made this one has #1. Both horns were taken off of a dead bull found while rabbit hunting in 2018. This one was made in 2019. Certainly not old , but one nail used to fasten the cap is from the Civil War time period. Made with folding knife, tomahawk, throwing knife , and  hot wire for making necessary holes. Used bees wax for sealing from moisture. Strap was made from a buck skin harvested in Iowa with a 50cal flintlock. It certainly won't win any beauty contests, but I love it and use it often. [ Invalid Attachment ]  [ Invalid Attachment ]

8 months ago, Longwalker started this thread. I was looking forward to reading some interesting stories and seeing some cool pictures. After I posted pictures of my ugly horn #2, it came to a screeching halt. I know there is more stories and pictures just waiting to be told and shown.

Nothing fancy... Not sure how old this one is, maybe 10 years (give or take some years either way)? I have other horns, but this is the one that gets the most use.

Okay then, here is my 1987 horn.  That would be what, 36 years old and still works.  I did modify it a little more this year by adding a staple to the butt plug.

Is that a little pouch at the bottom of the strap? If so, what are you carrying in that pouch?🤔

I think you're right. And I like it. I'm always looking for a place to keep mine so it's not just hanging there and flying around. I guess I could use speed loaders, but I just don't like them very well.

I've already shared a picture of one of my horns. This is my other one I use when using 45cal and above muzzleloaders. I carry smaller ones when hunting squirrel with a 32cal.  I've always wondered how much powder my horns would hold. This horn holds 3000 grns. Don't fill it clear up, because I'm not going to need that much powder at a shoot or while hunting (I hope not).  This horn is approximately 25 years old. It was a birthday gift from my wife several years after we were married. [ Invalid Attachment ]

Hank, you're absolutely right. It would be cool, to know how many TMA members have one of his horns. That was way too many years ago for me to remember what it cost, but I'm pretty sure I got the cuz discount. Hmmmmm, I wonder if I could get that discount again? 🤔  Plus, if you add the senior citizen discount, I could probably get one pretty cheap. :lol sign
