Probably so, a lot of my grandma's side was from up around Blackhawk and Nederland etc in the mountains. My grandma and great uncle had a silver claim together up there too.. Good chance it was up at that.
Funny thing about this picture is this is "Jopa" my grandpa who raised me. He's was actually my grandma's second husband. Him and my "Joma" raised me. My biological Grandpa was Lloyd Niemeier. He was a gunsmith and pretty big competitor in the BPCR world. I only met him a few times in my life before he passed. But there is a good chance this is a muzzleloader that Lloyd built and Jopa is shooting. They all were pretty civil with 5 kids in the mix...
Side note if anyone ever happens across a muzzleloader marked with L. Niemeier give me a holler , I'll buy it! His second wife had a fire sale to the gun club after his death and I haven't been able to track anything down. I do have one his beautiful rolling blocks he built for competition. But he gifted me that one my 18th birthday.
Anyhow, was just neat to stumble across!
