Keeping your hands warm, the 18th century way
« on: January 05, 2009, 09:59:16 PM »
Keeping your hands warm, the 18th century way. How do you do this in winter weather? My tim ein the woods this year got me thinking. What are ome PC option for 18th century gloves, mittens, fingerless gloves ect.? I know there were knitted mittens, and the military had leather gloves. But how common were plain mittens sewn out of wool fabric? What was used in the 18th century?

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR THEY COULD HAVE, THEY MIGHT HAVES, OR ANY ANSWERS LIKE THAT. IAM LOOKING FOR SOLID ANSWERS THAT CAN BE BACKED UP WITH DOCUMENTATION OR ARTIFACTS.

I am very interested in seeing something with documentation as well.  Let me know if you find anything, Eric.  :)
