One thing I think we can do ,as an organization, to promote black powder shooting is to promote skirmish shoots within the cw reenacting community. These are simply shooting contest with a
CW theme using weaponry of the period. For instance, here in Tennessee, Sons of Confederate veterans is a big organization.
I plan to visit some of the local "camps" and talk to them about some challenge matches. Guns are more fun when you're throwing lead down range! For more info look at the North South Skirmish

This will be my first year of skirmishing and I totally can't wait! I'll be shooting musket, carbine and maybe breechloader.

Met with the local scv camp this week. They are
planning on some shooting events on some of the members farms. I love it when a plan comes together. I gotta go practice with my colt!
