I have been searching high and low for a hat. I don`t like tricorns and only seen a few referances on them on trade post listing can anyone point my in the right direction Thanks

There's one hat I'd really like to have.  It's the one that looks like it has wolf ears on it.  I've seen historical representations of it and even seen some pics on the web of mountain men that have 'em.  Never seen it available anywhere, though.

That's because they are so simple to make.  You just have to have a blanket you are willing to cut up.  Hanson has a simple pattern for one in "The Mountain Man's Sketch Book Volume I".

SM, whats the situation with fabric hat?? Were they availible in a brimed  version in the time span from say 1790 to 1840???
