Cool, Thanks

Real handy there two steps,Thanx

When that said RB I thought folks wanted to know how much I weigh...
...that would be scary!
-
Check out all the other ballistic calculators there. Lots of information available on that site.
-
Except for the RB calculator, all the other tools just get:
Warning: require(/home/bear/www/navagation.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/bear/public_html/rescources/calculators/php/taylor.php on line 29
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/bear/www/navagation.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/bear/public_html/rescources/calculators/php/taylor.php on line 29

I couldn't figure out if it was you, rollingb or Uncle Russ...

Write this down and you no longer need a computer, just a calculator.
Weight of Lead Sphere in grains.
Multiply the cube of the diameter in thousandths of an inch by 1502.6.
Example: .72 x .72 x .72 = .373428 X 1502.6= 560.8424448

That only works if you have pure lead. The beauty of the posted calculator is you can weigh your balls and then look up the various materials and get some idea what you are casting. Or how much impurity you have in your lead. Sometimes what you think is pure lead turns out to not be.

Howdy;
I find myself in the same body of water as Blue lake ...;

is what awaited me when I went to "explore" the site further.

Worked fer me. Good thing too, I suck at math.

I got the same thing until I clicked on Ballistician's Corner in the blue box on the left. Lot of good calculators there, thanks TS.
Guess the drop down doesn't work right

You are correct, Michael. On the other hand the formula works well enough in sizes up to 1" even in lead alloys such as flashing, plumbing vents, plumbers lead, wheelweight metal and salvaged fishing weights that the error is so slight as to be of no concern.
I think that in this case perfect is the enemy of good enough.

Thaks for the formula Three Hawks! That was MJCH easier! :? :? :lol sign

Ain't that the truth.

Imagine a world where the face book trolls could join a forum where the answer is before them. It'd be like so cool for them to look up round ball weights in determining if the lead they got a good deal on is hard or soft.
:Doh!
