Yep.

But remember, from early on NWC visited ( Thompson visited just 2 mo.s after Astor's people arrived , & in just a couple of years, it was sold to the NWC. The Amer. presence was spotty until around the 1840s.(30 years latter) It was the Brits, that opened, explored & developed the area.
