Title: Plains pistol parts
Post by: Lonewolfe20 on July 05, 2014, 02:38:30 AM
I bought a pistol kit years ago from a junk store that was not finished. I was going to
Finish it this weekend but it doesn't seem that some of the screws are right
Does anyone know where to buy replacement parts

The barrel is just marked Spain no other maker marks

Wood screws or machine screws? either way, if you get into one of those hdwe stores that have the bins full of screws you should be able to find something that will work. I would anticipate metric machine screws on a spanish pistol....

Just came back from town struck out on all my screws
Also went to a local gun shop and I think we at least figured out the thread

The first one is 10x32 1 3/4 long it is the screw that goes through the barrel tang into the tigger assembly

The next we think were 3.5x.6 about 1/4 long they screw into the end of the barrel to hold on the brass cap on the stock

I might try and call Dixie Monday

Any other help is appreciated

Look up Traditions Firearms on the net. They sell parts from their kits, odds are they'll have something. You'll have to email them. Also, if they don't have metric, get some cheap SAE taps and re-thread.

Look at the parts lists for their guns. Find one similar and I wouldn't be surprised if they're very close.

Odds are that if it says Spain on the barrel, it is from Jukar, which makes the pistols for CVA and Traditions.
Find a parts list for whatever CVA or Traditions has and it is a good bet it will be correct.
Good luck.  In lieu of that, like Detatched said, get a cheap SAE set of taps and make the threads US.

Found the parts breakdowns thanks Detached

That is a good idea on tapping those to SAE

I browned the barrel last night so once I get these parts I am in business

Thanks for the input
