Indeed it was... I did not know the origin of the air rifle - I always thought it was something Harper's Ferry came up with... Just wait until my wife finds out I'm still teachable... :laffing

Thanks for posting this Rondo. I thought at one time I had (heard/read) that the Expedition even killed a buffalo with their air rifle.

One thing that stands out to me on that rifle is the Hammer and closely it resemble a percussion Hammer, yet Forsythe had yet to develope/discover/invent - the percussion cap... Makes a person wonder if he drew some idea's from an air rifle like this?
