Our ML/BP Men wore Corduroy Trousers in the 1700-1800s ! (both knee-length breeches & ankle-length trousers. )--- {example - NWC & HBC  sold them @ the trade posts.( HBC's 1821-1822 Athabasca outfit, George Simpson requested  61 pairs olive cord trousers, 59 pairs drab cord trousers,) + supplied them to their Voyagers}  ++ Worn by many of those who labored in our society !

I definitely like the cord trousers.  Have been wearing them for lots of years.  Mine are a nice dark blue.  Looks pretty dashing with a nice red shirt.
