Hey Mark. I think you forgot the Second - rate Marksman. And I do believe there is an error on KDubs score. Just sayin.

Not sure if I will be shooting anytime soon.  A couple weeks back I had an arthritis event I will call it in my right arm and hand.  Right-handed no less.  Anyway, I can't even bend my fingers or hold much of anything in my right hand.  In addition, my oldest daughter (51) has to have emergency back surgery next week, so we get the grandson and become soccer moms as he plays on two travel teams.  They own a wine shop. Getting good employees is a nightmare so he can't cover a lot of the goings on as he needs to take care of the shop.  Oh, and her surgery is in NYC which is 3 hours from here so we trying to plan this mess out. Sorry for the long tail of woe.  Would have been loner but I type left only right now.    ;banghead;

Sorry to hear of those unfortunate things happening to you and your family. Hoping thoughts and prayers will help in  figuring everything out and a healing to your condition . Along with successful surgery for your daughter.

Well Dave, I'm getting there with pain in the right hand.  Not incapacitating, but it's there so opening screw top jars and bottles is getting challenging.  Not sure if it's old Arthur sneaking up on me, or if it's Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from all the texting I seem to be doing on my flip phone.  Hang in there pal. Think of yourself as being a survivor!

Getting old ain't for sissies as my old man used to say....

I guess I'll say it here, due to my extended trip back east and RDV at the end of the month, I don't think I'll be able to shoot the may targets.
 I know never say never.

Will you be flying again this year? I need to find out so I know whether to look up for you or not. And will miss you shooting the postals. Just like Dave and anybody who can't participate.

Not as good as last month but not too bad either. Shooters fault. Gonna need to have a talk with him.

Well Tom there ain't no way I'm flying this year, crazy up there.( Down there too)
No the misses and I are driving.
19 days to get from Coeur D' Alene to Windom Minnesota, Detroit Michigan, then buffalo and Syracuse NY.
That should leave me one, yes one day back home in Idaho before I pack up and run to Cyr Montana for RDV
Taking 2 days each leg with a day or so at each port.
Hoping to see some sights on the way.
Avoiding I-90 as much as possible.
I'm sure it'll be an experience but it beats working.

Don't blame you for not flying.  So, be careful, have fun , and rest up when you get home because I think you're gonna be tired.

Nessmuk, I shot my target with my .62 cal Fusil De Chasse smoothbore, 25 yds, offhand. Always seems to be one that gets away. [ Invalid Attachment ]

Nice shooting buddy. I bet you felt a whole lot better about your target than I did about mine.

Thanks. I haven’t shot the smoothbore in quite a while so I was pleased with how it went. Looks like you got me beat though.

Well Paulk, I could live with my bullseye target. But that fun target had me disappointed pretty badly. Especially those last 2 shots at the bottom of the target. I shot about 6 shots before shooting that one, and I think I was weakening. I think I cold use a little spinach. But I can't rule out putting some down the barrel of the Renegade too. And I didn't even shoot the long range target, trying to preserve a little strength.

No Powder, I haven’t tried that. I’ll have to dust off a rifled gun and give it a shot. Are you shooting at the 100 yd scaled down target?

Yes I am. That's the long range target I was referring to in my post. I hit it on the 6th of this month and posted a picture on the forum. Used the same Renegade that I shot this months targets. Try it you'll like it. (If you hit it.)

No Powder the 2nd here....

It was lovely weather this morning with the threat of rain in the afternoon.  I grabbed the Shenandoah rifle, targets, cardboard backer, spotting scope and shooting bag, left a note for my Sweetie that I was going to shoot my May targets and headed out the door.  I drove the half hour to the range.  Got signed in and put up the Bravo flag.   Stuck a square of black Duck Tape on a paper plate and stapled that to the belting where targets are supposed to.  Took the rifle out of its sheath and prepared to load.

"What, no powder horn?"   ;banghead;

Yes indeedy, I had everything except powder!  I may have to change my handle from Winter Hawk to No Powder 2!  :luff:  :laffing  :lol sign

And that was the end of my shooting for today.

Well Kees, I've been looking for your targets. Especially with a low turnout this month. So I'm sorry for your misfortune but, look at it this way, my post on the 16th was the last post. So you created several more posts on this thread. I sincerely hope you'll have another opportunity before the end of the month. Our poor NMD (Nessmuk) may soon be headed to the Bureau of Unemployment Security.

Went out this morning and got 'er done, using the Traditions Shenandoah rifle.  First time ever I have shot it, took three sighter shots off the bench at 25 yards and was very satisfied; two were in one hole, and the last was an inch & a half high. Then I stood on my hind legs and did this:

I didn't get out in April, so I shot it with my May target (I forgot to grab the fun target off the printer so it's just the bullseye for May for me)... I posted those in the April thread its fine that they don't count, I just wanted to get caught up.
 Here's my May target though!

This was all offhand today. This little 45 that I bought of Marty's goes exactly where you point it. 50gr ffg and prb!

Joe always turned in good scores in the postal and silhouette matches.  More than likely he used that particular smokepole to shoot some of those. I think it found a good home.

Kees, I thought for sure you were going to have the highest score for May. Good show ole chap. Do that again this month and  see what happens.

I'll try!  I may take a little more off the comb of the Shenandoah, towards the front.  It do whack my cheek when shooting off the bench.
