shooters, this month we'll be shooting the standard target AND the notorius MIKE FINK!
If you haven't had the displeasure of shooting Mike, make sure you read the Target carefully. It's a B%&*#h.

Apologies for the late posting. My Canine Companion of almost 17 years passed from kidney failure on July 1st and I had to attend to his final needs.

You posted the same target twice. I think you wanted to link to the Mike Fink one perhaps? I'll make a real effort to get to the range this month and wring out the Shenandoah rifle some more. This past month was a doozie with dental and vet appointments, plus other "stuff" getting in the way.

I also cut a cavity in Mike's head and filled it with canned tomatoes, just waiting for someone to shoot a bit low.
I thought that would be just splendid if someone did.
Sorry to say, it was for naught. Everyone hit the tin can balanced on his head or missed altogether. I shot last with my Bess and darn, I missed it altogether myself.
Oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men, etc.....

I missed June completely with all the happenings we had. Maybe I can get the can shot off his head the next few weekends!

Here's my attempt for this month.
Had to shoot at the sand pit down the road, high winds today and with the fire restrictions I didn't want to chance it on my home range.
Anyway I certainly need more practice.
Consistent at about 3" over POA.
Don't remember this kibler shooting like that.

Post by: Winter Hawk on July 26, 2025, 03:09:19 PM: I am confused. Someone please explain Kevin's target. I would also score it as being 10 + 6 + 4 = 20 in the cup, while 2 X -10 = -20 in MF himself. 20 - 20 = 0.... ::) ::) ::)

Here's a better photo.
The noe shot at the bottom of the can broke the line so it goes for a 10 rather than -10.
. The 4 broke the line therefore it's a 6
20 + 12 = 32 - 10 = 22.
I think that's right.

I guess then that, because the one shot hit both the cup and MF's head, the fact that he is dead is immaterial and only the +10 counts. So it becomes 4 + 6 + 10 + 10 - 10 for a grand score of 20?

It's been 98F everyday since I got back, quite a change.

BTW Kubs score is 22 for Mike Fink.
