Thanks for all the birthday wishes, guys! I sure appreciate ?em!
Put in 7? miles of rugged terrain yesterday chasing ghosts with Kevin. Brought my newly-finished .50 cal Woodsrunner stocked in walnut. Plenty of elk and deer sign, but not a single critter in sight. Great day in the woods though?just the kind of ?unsuccessful? hunt I?ll gladly do again.

Those are some mighty fine looking rifles you guys are using. I'm assuming that is also Ginger in that one photo. Thanks for sharing those pictures. Hope you have better luck the next time you hit the trail.

That really reminds me of my hunts in Unit 4, back in the day, 20+ years ago.
I used to take my rifle out for scenic walks in the woods.
Usually it was a three day venture, up to Pritchert where I stayed at Gloria's hotel.
Then up the River Road towards Uranus Peak. Fine country with lots of elk sign, but few to any critters to be seen.
Personally, I think that on November 9th, they all got together and went to Disneyland, cause they sure weren't there.
On November 10th, when season started, all that was left were their tracks and their poop on the ground.
I guess that's why they call it going hunting, not going killing.
